With support from UNFPA-Zimbabwe, MUSASA hosted a stakeholders meeting with Zimbabwe idai Recovery Program (ZIRP) partners and district stakeholders in #Chipinge, #Zimbabwe on 22 October, 2020. The meeting aimed at strengthening multisectorial capacity to prevent and respond to #GBV
There is a strong linkage between GBV and natural disasters where in emergency situations women and girls are more vulnerable to gender based violence which may include sexual exploitation, domestic violence, physical violence, trafficking etc. The gender imbalances that trigger GBV in ‘normal’ times escalate in times of crisis. The existence of prevention and response GBV services is therefore critical.
